Hello and welcome to class 1.
So what is this targeted selection interview process and why do I need to know it?
Many employers are utilizing this process to hire candidates today.
Basically, it is a behavioral approach to improved hiring decisions.
Hiring individuals is a risk and can be very costly for companies to find out that three months down the road the new employee did not work out and they have to go through the hiring process again, and the job is not filled.
The following concepts are incorporated in the Targeted Selection Process:
Focuses on past behaviors to predict future behaviors.
Focuses on job-related behavior and assess the job, organization and motivatonal fit.
Wow! You are probably saying. This is going to be tough! Not really, I will instruct you how to suceed in this process.
I really like this approach. It not only good for the hiring managers, it is good for the job seeker as well! Don’t you want to know if you will be a good fit? Have you ever taken a job and a month or so into it you regret your decsion?
I did that. I did not fit into the company’s culture at all. I wish I knew that before I signed on!
See you tomorrow for our continued discussion!
